How SketchNet collects, uses and protects personal information submitted through this website. Last updated September 2026.
Who we are
Sketchnet is a communication agency based at Lukuli, Makindye, Kampala, Uganda. For any question about this policy or about your personal data, contact us at sketchnetinfo@gmail.com.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. Specifically:
- Enquiry form. Your name, email address and message, plus optionally your organisation, phone number and the service you are interested in.
- Newsletter. Your email address, if you subscribe.
- Technical data. Standard server logs, and a one-way hashed version of your IP address stored alongside form submissions to help us detect abuse. The hash cannot be reversed to recover your IP address.
We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. The only cookies this site sets are a session cookie required to protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and a small preference cookie remembering your chosen language.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss potential work.
- To send you our newsletter, where you have asked us to.
- To keep the website secure and functioning.
We rely on your consent for the newsletter, and on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries for the contact form. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for marketing purposes. Your information is accessible to the SketchNet team, and to our web hosting provider as part of operating this website. Where we use an email delivery provider to send messages, your data passes through their systems for that purpose only.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are retained for up to 24 months so that we can pick up conversations that resume later. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Server logs are retained according to our host's standard retention period.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is inaccurate;
- delete your data, where we have no continuing obligation to keep it;
- stop sending you the newsletter.

Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated and sanitised server-side and stored on our host's systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
